I had an idea that it might be cool to play hammered dulcimer using a digital delay effect. The first tune... "Crush On You"... uses a fairly mild delay; the second... "Awakening to Epiphany"... is a bit more drastic:

Crush On You - 3.5MB
Awakening to Epiphany (excerpt) - 908KB

- Notes -

"Carol of the Bells" is an arrangement based on patterns I learned from Evan Carawan.

"St. Basil's Hymn" is a traditional Greek children's choral that was arranged by hammer dulcimist Malcolm Dalglish. If you recognize it, it's probably because George Winston recorded a piano version of it on his highly successful "December" album.

"Laird of Drum Blaire" is an arrangement by my all-time favorite hammer dulcimer player, Evan Carawan.

The O'Carolan pieces are combinations of arrangements by Carrie Crompton and Walt Michael, except "Captain O'Kane," which is an arrangement by Maggie Sansone.

"Simple Gifts" is a beautiful arrangement by Carrie Crompton in her book "Hammer Dulcimer Solos - Volume 2," which is available from Carrie Crompton.

"Building the Perfect Clock" is a piece composed by my favorite hammered dulcimer player, Evan Carawan.

The remaining pieces are all originals that I came up with by doing a lot of noodling - hence the new age feel and hokey names.
